Publish your organisation's page, and be found by funders and partners

NGOstack is a platform for NGOs and the funders, partners and practitioners around them: a public organisation page built from blocks, a verified directory and global atlas of who is working on what, and AI matching that points you at the opportunities and people worth your time. Wix is a website builder, and a good one — used by plenty of NGOs to run their public site.

So the decision is not which one designs a nicer page. It is what you need the page to do. If the job is a public website on your own domain — brand, donations, events, a blog — that is a website project. If the job is being found by a programme officer who has never heard of you, and giving them something credible to read when they arrive, that is a network problem, and it is the one NGOstack is built for.

What Wix is good at

Wix is a mature website builder with a drag-and-drop editor, a large template library, your own domain, donation and event pages, a blog and multilingual sites — and a small team can get a campaign microsite live over a weekend without a developer or a designer. That matters for an NGO: the annual report launch, the fundraising appeal, the volunteer sign-up page. If your open problem is that the public website looks dated and nobody on staff can change it, Wix answers that directly, and nothing below is an argument to move your website off it.

Your organisation page, and the URL it lives on

A programme officer takes a first call with you and then opens your page to decide whether to take a second one. The NGOstack organisation page is assembled from blocks written for that reader rather than for a generic website: hero, about, impact, impact timeline, SDGs, projects, partners, team, voices, updates, gallery, contact and calls to action, with a pinned header and footer so the page keeps its shape. It stays a draft until you publish it, and its slug defaults to your organisation alias — rename it later and the old address keeps a 301 redirect, so the link in last year's grant report still resolves. One thing to be plain about: the page is served on an NGOstack URL, and a custom domain for it is not available today. There are two workable paths. Link to it from your Wix site's navigation and let it be the funder-facing page, or keep your Wix site on your own domain and publish articles to it from NGOstack — WordPress, Ghost, Webflow and Wix are among the destinations, each post composed and sent by a coordinator by hand, and you should check which ones are live in your account. Being found by the people who fund you

A foundation is scoping a water and sanitation programme in East Africa and needs three implementing partners in Kenya. In NGOstack they filter the member directory for verified organisations by country, focus area and role, then open the atlas to see who is actually operating where — funders, NGOs and independent experts on one live global map. Your organisation is a record inside that search, not only a site someone has to already know the address of. Matching runs in the other direction as well: it surfaces opportunities, funders, partners and people across the network for you, using the profile information you have explicitly entered — focus areas, interests, what you do — never behaviour inferred from what you clicked. The scores stay internal signals behind those suggestions; there are no public rankings, badges or leaderboards, so a five-person organisation is not quietly losing a scoreboard it cannot see.

Getting to the right person

Matching surfaces an organisation in Nairobi already running the borehole-maintenance model you were about to design from scratch. You open their organisation page, read the projects and partners blocks to check it is a real fit, and reach their coordinator through a connection on the platform instead of posting into a shared info@ inbox and hoping. That is what connections and messaging are for here — getting to the right person or organisation at the moment it matters — alongside community access to a global community of changemakers working across every SDG. It is not a team chat: NGOstack has no channels or internal team messaging, so keep whichever tool your staff already use for day-to-day coordination. This is for the conversations that start outside your own organisation.

Which to choose

Stay with Wix if the public website is the actual job: you need your own domain, tight control of the brand, donation and event pages, a blog and perhaps several languages, and your funding relationships already come out of networks you are in. Moving that site would cost you weeks and buy you nothing. Move to NGOstack if the harder problem is being findable and being credible to people who have never met you — you want a record funders search in a verified directory, a presence on the atlas, matching that brings opportunities to you, and an organisation page that reads as a live report rather than a brochure. For most NGOs already on Wix the recommendation is to run both on purpose: keep the Wix site on your domain as the public front door, make the NGOstack organisation page the funder- and partner-facing one, link the two, and publish updates from NGOstack to the Wix site where that destination is live in your account. If you can only keep one of them properly maintained and your growth depends on partners and funders finding you, make it the NGOstack page.
